Let customers speak for us
from 22 reviewsQuality of the product is good. I have purchased two mudgars earlier. Overall purchase experience has been good. Last time one of the mudgars was damaged in transit. It was replaced free of cost with courier charges refunded.

I'v doing steel mace vinyasa yoga and was searching a mace for practicing 360. For this purpose the gada is the perfect tool. Not only for 360 also for any practice with a swinging movement. The wooden handle and the small globe on the handle make it easy to control with a perfect grip.
For vinyasa I use my thiner steel mace as its easier to handle in a yoga flow. But with developing more and more strength gada will be an option for vinyasa. So I can recommend this gada for anybody who is interested to deepen the experince with mace and gada movement

It was bought for my American friend. He is amazed and just loves them. Thanks for providing the premium wood club since the regular wood product wasn't in stock. I appreciate you considering timely delivery and customer satisfaction over profits.

It's been almost a month and the gada is going really strong and beautiful. I'm liking the experience.

The Mudgar I received was far too superior in quality and finishing!! I got my name engraved. It weighed exactly 5 kg. People at Great Indian Workout are very responsive, committed and deliver value on time everytime!!

I live in USA and frequently visit my family in Mumbai. I have been following the Great Indian Workout for a while on social media and had decided to buy a mobility and full body based workout device from them when I visit India. The Hanuman Gada was the perfect choice for me - not only because of the great benefits it has but also due to my close affinity to Lord Hanumanji and the history of the Gada. I placed and order for the 4-5 kg Gada and waited for its arrival. Upon calling them I got to know that their craftsman was making it from scratch from locally sourced Acacia wood from Nashik. I wanted them to take their time and knew the end product would be amazing. When I received the Gada, it was beautiful and I just couldn't stop admiring it. The packing was great and it was very well protected. The craftsmanship and level of detailing on the Gada was perfect. It was worth the wait and the money. I wish them all the best and look forward to getting some more stuff from them in the future. I highly recommend them to anyone wanting to get into traditional Indian workout.
P.S. the Gada traveled back safe with me to USA. Jai Hanuman.

Hanuman Gada 11-12 kg

Correct weight, Nice finish and delivered timely.

Very nice look nicer then the picture I am looking forward to buy more

One of my clubs was damaged during shipping. Without any hesitation, TGIW sent me a replacement club within 10 days. Their clubs are beautiful, reasonably priced, and the team has a high degree of integrity.
The product quality is great.
However the product itself weighs over 6.5kg for a 4-6 kg product. Also a suggestion that the handle is a bit thicker thicker so grabbing it becomes a bit difficult

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the safest way for beginners to start Mudgar or Gada training?
Safety comes first. Always warm up shoulders, wrists, and spine before training. Beginners should start with light weights (3–5 kg) and focus on smooth swings, not brute force. The goal is rhythm, breathing, and control.
Once you can complete high-rep sets (100–200 swings) without strain, you may gradually increase weight. Avoid ego lifting — it’s about flow, not just power. and resilience. Many athletes use them alongside barbells, kettlebells, and calisthenics to unlock balanced strength.
How is Mudgar different from Indian Clubs or Gada?
Mudgar, Indian Clubs, and Gada may look similar, but each serves a unique purpose. Mudgar is heavier and designed for building strength and grip endurance. Indian Clubs are lighter, better for mobility, rhythm, and coordination drills.
Gada has an offset weight, making it ideal for developing torque, explosive shoulder power, and rotational strength. Using them together can create a complete functional training system that blends heritage with modern fitness.
Can women benefit from Mudgar, Gada, or Samtola training?
Absolutely! Ancient traditions show goddesses like Durga and Bagalamukhi wielding mace-like weapons, symbolizing feminine strength. Modern women athletes, yoginis, and dancers use these tools to improve posture, mobility, spine flexibility, and endurance.
Lightweight versions are excellent for beginners and even seniors, making them accessible to all genders.
Why are Mudgar and Gada becoming popular again in modern fitness?
Because modern athletes are realizing that health is not just about lifting heavy weights—it’s about functional strength, mobility, and longevity. Mudgar and Gada offer exactly that, along with a connection to tradition.
They train body and mind together, making workouts not just physical but deeply engaging and holistic. This blend of heritage and utility explains their revival worldwide.
